SPRING SEEDING AT SAINT-SAUVANT
Each year, Cérience research and development hub performs approximately 20,000 trial micro-plots.
At the beginning of the Spring, many selection programs have been implemented in the R&D station of Saint-Sauvant (86). In particular, it’s specialized for the varietal selection of fodder, grass and leguminous plants.
The seed samples have been prepared beforehand in order to control the various intended seeding densities. The trial protocols are following a very specific plot plan, defined with a specialized software. Then, the implementation has been performed with a GPS-controlled seed drill.
Let’s meet in a few weeks to see the evolution of these trials.
