- Maximum resistance to blights
- Great quality.
Benefits in detail
-
MELISTAR is an annual ryegrass that gets installed and then produces very quickly. Thus, it allows to replenish some forage stocks in a few weeks or to be valued as pasture.
Strong yielding potential:- With a very quick establishment, MELISTAR offers a very high forage production in 1st cut as for the following ones.
- Either it’s implanted in spring or in the fall, it sets the difference in all situations (respective yields: 104% and 102% vs. reference)
Lasting production:
- MELISTAR is annual but with a very good longevity, thus allowing to keep a very high production potential on several farms.
Maximum resistance to blights:
- In case of blights attacks, the quality and the production of the annual ryegrass can be strongly reduced.
- The excellent level of blight resistance of MELISTAR (7.3) is a safety for the production of an abundant and well-consumed fodder.
Great quality:
- MELISTAR produces a forage rich in leaves and very digestible (digestibility rating: 4.3). Thus, it combines a very high yielding level and a very high quality.
- In order to optimize its feed value, it needs to be combined with some legumes such as the crimson clover, the Micheli clover or a vetch.
