- High hay production in 1st cut;
- Composition based on fast-drying forage species;
- Hay rich in palatable and digestible fibre;
- Abundant leafy regrowth in summer/autumn;
- Good use of livestock manure;
- Ideal for a dry ration + maize silage:
- Rich in long fibre to increase chewing time (60 to 90 min/kg of D.M. depending on the operating cycle, compared with 30 to 50 min/kg of D.M. for grass silage or alfalfa hay);
- Palatable, so that 8 to 10 kg of young forage is consumed;
- Digestible to facilitate transit and stimulate ingestion.
Farming :
1st growth cycle:
- De-sprouting as soon as possible at the 3-leaf fescue stage (8 to 10 cm in healthy plots) to delay heading and encourage tillering;
- Haying at the heading/early flowering stage for dietary fodder rich in palatable fibre.
Shoots :
- Grazing at the 3-leaf fescue stage (8 to 10 cm);
- Regain hay made from leafy plants (pure remontant species) for a nutritional hay.
