Benefits in detail

NICKEL is a perfect variety for use as a catch crop or as a cover crop.

Unique vigour and robustness:

  • From the moment it is planted and throughout its cycle, NICKEL stands out from other varieties thanks to its vigorous growth.
  • What's more, it combines very good cold hardiness (rating: 9) with an early spring start (winter emergence vigour rating: 8), making it ideal for use in forage mixtures.

Very high yield potential:

  • NICKEL was selected for its very high forage yield potential, both pure and in mixtures (130% vs. controls).
  • What's more, its very good level of resistance to diseases such as anthracnose and mildew means it performs well.

Top feed quality:

  • NICKEL is a variety with a very high protein content.
  • In forage combinations, NICKEL will significantly improve the nutritional quality of the forage harvested (e.g. in combination with an R.G.I, it is possible to gain 2 protein points and harvest forage with 15.1% M.A.T.).
