Whatever the soil and climatic conditions, RUBIS is a very productive and robust winter-type common vetch variety.
Record forage production:
- RUBIS was selected for its very high forage and grain yield potential (114% and 126% respectively vs. controls, i.e. 12.2 t DM/ha and 32.15 q/ha);
- Whether mixed with RGI or cereals, RUBIS boosts the productivity and feed quality of forage mixtures.
- In numerous trials, RUBIS emerged as the No. 1 vetch, both pure and in combination.
Maximum disease resistance:
- RUBIS is a veritable fortress against disease.
- From planting right through to harvesting, this variety is resistant to numerous diseases that can be detrimental to the crop, such as botrytis and mildew (ratings: anthracnose: 8.6; mildew: 9; botrytis: 8.9).
Very cold tolerant:
- RUBIS is more cold tolerant than the average of other common winter vetches (cold tolerance score of 6 vs. a species average of 4).
- It has demonstrated during very harsh winters that it can withstand temperatures as low as -16 to -18°C.
